My name is Fred Quiel, and I am a candidate for the Ocean View School District Board of Trustees.  I am asking for your support and endorsement for the November 7^th  school board election.

I am a married father of two daughters who attend school in the Ocean View School District.  I am an attorney managing my own law firm practicing Labor Relations and Labor Law.  Prior to that I was a City Manager, Director of Finance and Budget, and a Human Resource Director.  I became involved in the OVSD over five years ago when my eldest child enrolled in the District.  My wife, Cindy, and I volunteer in the classroom and with the Parent Teacher Organization.

My agenda is simple:

            *A child advocate first;

            *Balanced budget, responsible spending, transparent accounting;

            *Maintain class size reduction;

            *Improve curriculum to meet the needs of our students;

*Structure salaries to attract and retain the best District educators and support

  staff.

As an involved parent, my experience has afforded me the opportunity to work hands-on with the children and work closely with teachers and site administrators.  I have an understanding of school site issues and know that I can facilitate communication, confidence and trust between the Ocean View School Board and the community.  My goal is to work hard to assure our children’s best interests and needs are met, that they are given every opportunity for a successful education, and that they receive the maximum benefit from our tax dollars.

A successful campaign can be very costly, and I am asking for financial support if you are in a position to make a donation.  I would greatly appreciate your support in any way, whether it be financial, putting a sign in your yard, or walking campaign literature.
