Each Fukuro Shinai is hand made with exquisite care. The handle is wrapped with cotton material for a soft feel and no slip grip. The exterior shell of the sword is a synthetic vinyl. Many Fukuro Shinai's on the market today are made of Real Leather, and when they get wet from either sweat or training outside in the elements it stains the leather. The synthetic material will not stain and is easy to clean. Just wipe with a damp cloth. If you are training in Budo Taijutsu, IRT, Aikido, Kenjutsu, or any other art that uses a long sword, then this Fukuro Shinai is simply a must in your training!
